D’Banj - Oliver Twist

Officially one of my “duttyiest” tracks of the year, this is a new single from the Nigerian born D’Banj. I didn’t really know that much about the guy, but he’s a big deal in Africa, and with a track like this it’s not surprising.

Earlier this year Kanye signed him and producer to a single album deal on the G.O.O.D label as well, so he’s obviously got a enough crossover to his sound to make him marketable. Auto-tuned to hell with one of the catchiest soca undertones I’ve been privvy to in 2011, get this one into your party playlist. If we’re all totally honest with ourselves, it’s a little (god-help us), “Sean-Pauly” but it’s the better parts from that corn row wearing buffoon mixed with Soca. What can go wrong. Listen.
